Father's Day 2013!!

Happy Father's Day Josh! So the kids wanted to do something special for Josh, so we all thought of what we could do to make the day special. I decided to get him an expansion to a game we love to play. So I thinking ahead hid $60 to accomplish the task. (He never knew, it was great). Jacob wanted to help in picking out a supplement to the game and Meagan wanted to make him a knight made out of popsicle sticks and whatever else she could find in my craft supplies.

The next step to our mad plan was to make a treasure hunt for him to follow. Jacob did one for the game and Meagan did her own for the night.

The kids and I learned a great lesson of proper scale measurement. The kids set the scale to how many steps it would take to each point in children's feet NOT adult. I wish I had set the camera to movie cause comedy ensued. Josh followed the map exactly but instead of ending up in the right spot at each point he ended up in the corner of the living room with no way to move so he took each step in place and moved his body east, north, south, west which ever way the map told him to go. The kids and I had a riot watching him TRY to go the right way. So we corrected him and told him to think like a kid. Well he made it to his destination and was surprised to find a box beautifully colored by the kids full of goodies. The game was Dominion the prosperity expansion. (Only six more expansions left that we are interested in getting).

Knowing now that the scale was little feet he followed Meagan's map perfectly. She even spiced it up with an unexpected dragon fight. (She used paper as fire and he used a fly swatter as a sword) He defeated the dragon and found his treasure.

Meagan did an amazing job on the statue. It really turned out well. Josh was very proud and happy of the booty and had fun in the process. Let me just say Josh is an amazing father and we love him so much. Happy Father's Day Josh you deserve the best. Love You A/F.
